Very pleased to announce the premier of a completely new song on PORTALS’ inaugural mixtape, which features the likes of Ra Cailum, Alligator Indian, Beat Culture, Teen Suicide, You Won’t, Yalls, and many more.
Head over to PORTALS to check out HUMS, a song I would describe as a “wet, hellish, pulsing carnival ride”— along with all of the other amazing contributions.
Lands and Peoples Everyday (Live at the Metro Gallery)
One of the most impressive live recordings I’ve actually wanted to listen to over and over again, by Baltimore’s Lands and Peoples is really something GREAT. This duo stands to be one of the break out acts at this year’s CMJ Music Marathon Fest. Front man Beau Cole, and Caleb Moore, (also of Dead Drums) have some serious lungs on him, and brings a luscious vintage rock feel, that he create so effortlessly by weaving beautiful vocals and instruments into a sound that is so powerful, it actually moves you. The indie space has been waiting for a band like Lands and Peoples for a very long time. Fans of bands like Dead Gaze, Local Natives and Future Islands will be instantly hooked.
Take a listen to their incredibly catchy “Everyday” track, recorded live at the Metro Gallery in Baltimore, MD above. If is any indication of what their live show live be like, CMJ is in for an epic treat.
Check out Lands and Peoples entire “Live at the Metro Gallery” set on their Bandcamp and be sure to check them out at CMJ 2011!

Some shots of us at Red Onion records the other day. By Sam Ray. If you haven’t listened to Gem Club yet, you crazy son! Also, Holy Spirits were beautiful and just as mesmerizing as a two-piece.
